The Hospice has twelve shops across the Borough. They are all run by a team of dedicated volunteers and raise much needed funds for the Hospice. In 2008 the shops contributed almost £480,000 to support Hospice services. The shops sell a wide range of pre-owned goods including clothes, bric-a-brac, furniture, electrical goods, books, CD’s etc. We rely on the generosity of the local population in donating good quality items for sale in the shops. Over £4 million has been raised since the first Hospice shop opened in 1988.
Collections and deliveries of larger items can be arranged (all settees, easy chairs etc. must have a fire retardant label attached). Please telephone the Hospice on 01942 525566 to arrange a collection.
If you wish to donate televisions, please call in to your local shop to enquire on the current situation, as there are limitations on the TV's we can accept.
We have almost completed an investment program that has seen all our shops brought up to modern retail standards. The Hospice shops are now bright, modern places that ensure a pleasant shopping experience. They are also nice places for our volunteers to work.
We are happy to report that each shop refit has resulted in higher profits going direct to the Hospice to support the care of our patients and their carers.

Volunteers
We are always looking for new volunteers, so if you would like to help in one of our shops with such tasks as sorting, steaming and working the till or if you have a flair for customer service or quality window displays, then give us a call. Volunteers who wish to learn computer skills may also want to help with our eBay shop which is operated from the Hospice. We can offer full training, a fun, friendly environment, travelling expenses, social events and being part of a team that is working to help the Hospice.
