We understand that stepping into a hospice building for the first time can be daunting. But patients, carers and family members frequently tell us how the welcoming atmosphere of the hospice itself swept aside any reservations.
There's far more to the hospice than you think
What often surprises people is just how much the hospice offers. We provide a supportive and caring environment for the patient, but we also provide a range of services to help carers and family cope too. Our care isn't just medical - we understand that people have a broad range of needs, including emotional, social and spiritual - so we provide services to help there, too.
Support in the community
People also tend to think of a hospice as a place with wards and beds. It is, but that's only a small part of the story. We also provide a day hospice, where people can access our service for a day a week over a predetermined time. On top of that, a great deal of our services are provided in the community - in care homes and people's own homes, by our own highly trained, specialist nurses.
