National Gardens Scheme Open Garden

Event date: 15 July 2018

THE GARDENS at Wigan and Leigh Hospice will open as part of the National Gardens Scheme in July.

Open Gardens

On Sunday, July 15th, the gardens at the hospice on Kildare Street in Hindley will be open from 10am to 4pm.

Our gardens have colourful flower beds at the front and behind the hospice visitors will discover three ponds and a Chinese bridge donated by the Whitworth Art Gallery. The Dedicate A Daisy memorial garden and two courtyards also feature and as the gardens are adjacent to Amberswood Common they are a haven for wildlife.

Dr Alan Baron, Chief Executive of the hospice, said: "The gardens at the hospice are a hidden sanctuary for our patients and their visitors right in the middle of Hindley. We are very much looking forward to welcoming people from our community who haven't seen our beautiful gardens before or those who haven't been here for a while and want to see how much they have changed. There is a lot to discover here and beautiful gardens to explore."

An entry fee of £3 will be charged at the entrance. Refreshments will be available to purchase.

Please just turn up on the day - no booking is necessary.
