Hospice achieves Outstanding rating
11 April 2017
We are thrilled that the Hospice has been awarded an Outstanding rating following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in October.
Outstanding is the highest rating that can awarded by the CQC.
Five separate ratings and one overall rating are given by the CQC inspectors as follows:
- Is the service safe? Good
- Is the service effective? Good
- Is the service caring? Good
- Is the service responsive? Outstanding
- Is the service well-led? Outstanding
- Overall Rating Outstanding
Dr Alan Baron, Hospice Chief Executive, said: "We want every one of our patients, and those people important to our patients, to receive high quality care tailored to their individual needs. We are delighted that the CQC inspectors recognised this during their visit and have awarded us a rating of Outstanding.
"We are very proud of the services we provide to people across Wigan and Leigh. This rating is a wonderful acknowledgement of our staff and volunteers and the dedication and compassion they show every day in caring for people affected by a life-limiting illness."
