    The extensive Hospice gardens were again the venue for the Annual Garden Party on Saturday 11th August. The bright sunny day attracted hundreds of people, all of whom were keenly exploring the dozens of stalls packed with all manner of ‘goodies’; from fascinating food to the extensive range of excellent products.

  • Table Tennis League

    Wigan Table Tennis League presented a cheque for £250 to Wigan & Leigh Hospice. The proceeds are from an annual challenge event to the six champions of local clubs. Executive Committee member Steve Rowe said, “Wigan & Leigh Hospice is a great local charity and we are delighted to be able to support them. They provide excellent care for local people and need everyone’s help and support.”

    Jade Boswell(18) from Wigan is one of 60 national finalists in the ‘Teen Miss Great Britain’ competition. She is in line for a stunning array of prizes which, in addition to the prestigious sash and crown, include £1000 cash, £500 to spend on clothes and an introduction to a leading modelling agency.

    For well over 10 years, Wigan & Leigh Hospice have sold small cuddly toys at Christmas and Easter, in most of the schools in the Borough. In that time, the project has generated a magnificent £100,000 profit for the Hospice, averaging approximately £80-£100 per school.
