 Oak Fest 2

TAI Chi, yoga and ukulele classes are a few of the workshops available at Oak Fest - three open days demonstrating what the Oak Centre in Hindley has to offer.

Oak Fest is a chance for healthcare professionals, carers, members of the public and people with life-limiting illnesses to find out more about how the centre helps to improve wellbeing.

The aim of the Oak Centre is to support people with a life-limiting illness who have been diagnosed as palliative to set themselves goals and make the most out of life. This is done through a range of workshops and classes including ukulele and choir as well as therapies including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, creative therapy and complementary therapy.

For three days between Monday, September 24th and Wednesday, September 26th anyone in Wigan Borough is invited to come along to the Oak Centre on Kildare Street, Hindley, to see it for themselves.

Most classes or workshops are free of charge although a small donation of £5 is requested for some activities. Some must be booked in advance on 01942 525566 / oakcentre@wlh.org.uk as there are limited places.
