Associate Hospice Nurse Specialist
37 hours per week, Permanent (part time candidates are considered)
£37,101 – £40,089 per annum
Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1983. We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
About the role
We are looking to recruit a forward thinking Associate Hospice Nurse Specialist who will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with complex palliative care needs. You will utilise gold standards framework meetings, encourage and support advance care planning to deliver the best service possible.
As an Associate Hospice Nurse Specialist you will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of the service by leading on clinical audit, formal palliative care education provision and service development initiatives.
You will work under the guidance and support of Hospice Nurse Specialists whilst reporting to the Community Services Manager.
Suitable candidates will hold a current professional registration with the NMC, RN1: Adult Nurse, level 1, RNA: Adult Nurse, level 1, and have evidence of relevant CPD.
A minimum of 4 years post registration experience of professional practice with patients with progressive or complex conditions and able to demonstrate professional development are the essential experience requirements for the role.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car insured for business use is essential for this role.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services Check (DBS) will be required.
