Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1983. We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
About the role
Our fundraising and lottery team are expanding and looking to appoint a Corporate, Grants and Major Donor Fundraiser. You will join the team at an exciting time, during a period of growth as our fundraising calendar fills.
As Corporate, Grants and Major Donor Fundraiser, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic plan and agreed income. You will achieve this by managing relationships with and making applications to a range of grant-making trusts and charitable foundations, developing links with the Wigan and Leigh business community, encouraging companies and their staff to engage with and support the work of the hospice and identify and nurture relationships with individuals who have capacity to contribute substantially to the work of the hospice.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience of working successfully in trust and/or corporate fundraising, have experience of setting, working to and achieving financial targets within deadlines and budgets, experience of managing relationships at varying levels and the ability to write persuasive and compelling copy together with presentations and pitches.
The role requires travel across the borough therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use is essential.

The available role
We are looking to appoint one person to the role, working 37 hours per week, usually 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30pm-4pm Friday however due to the nature of the role there will be some work required during evenings/weekends which will be agreed in advance and working hours adjusted to account for this.
