Palliative and End of Life Care Community Manager
(known at the hospice as Clinical Service Lead for Community and Wellbeing Services)
30 or 37 hours per week, permanent, job share considered
£44,464- £51,565 per annum (pro rata if part time)
Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1983. We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
About the role
We have a fantastic and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and visionary individual to join our community teams as the newly created Clinical Service Lead for Community and Wellbeing Services.
Applications are invited from registered nurses from all backgrounds, especially those with extensive Palliative Care and management experience. The role does require the applicant to hold or be willing to undertake a fully funded Master’s degree in a relevant clinical or managerial field.
This is an exciting opportunity and would suit either an experienced clinician with strong leadership and management skills or a band 7 who is looking to progress to their next career and academic opportunities.

Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle insured for business use is essential for this role.
We are looking to appoint to one permanent position. The service works 7 days a week, 8.30am-4.30pm, with one 4pm finish. The salary for the role is £46,046-£51,565 per annum if you already have or are completing your Master’s degree in a relevant clinical or managerial field. If you do not already have this, the hospice would support you to achieve it and your salary would commence on £44,464 per annum, this salary would increase to £46,046 per annum one year into your studies and at annual increments each year thereafter until you reach the top of the banding at £51,565 per annum. Job share considered.
