Linda Byrne from Hindley organised a reunion for anyone who attended Cardinal Newman Secondary School in Hindley during the 33 years it was open.

A General Assistant at Tesco Linda sold 250 tickets for the reunion at Madisen Hall in Hindley which took place on October 18th.

She said: "The school was open from 1959 until 1992 and I opened it up to anyone who attended so we had a great mix of people. I didn't think I would get that many people wanting tickets but I could have sold another 100 so next time I'm going to book another venue and raise even more."

Linda raised funds by charging an entrance fee to the reunion and held a raffle on the night. She also had a stall at the Hospice's Christmas Fayre on November 15th when she raised a further £240 to add to the grand total.
