Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1983. We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs

About the role

We are looking for a number of collectors to join our Lottery Team.

As a Lottery Collector you will be reporting to the Fundraising & Lottery Manager and you will speak to members of the public as you collect their monthly lottery subscriptions, door to door. You must have a friendly and considered approach, excellent verbal communication skills and be able to deal with a wide variety of people. You have to be capable of handling cash of varying amounts. Car owner or ability to travel within the Hospice catchment area.

As a Lottery Collector you would be able to collect on a day that suits you best but this would have to be done on the same day each time and collected every four weeks.

This role is for someone who is flexible, reliable and can be left alone to complete set tasks. Payment to a collector is 15% commission. Travel expenses 40 pence per mile.

As a lottery collector you will adhere to Wigan and Leigh Hospice policies and guidelines which include confidentiality and health and safety. All applicants will be DBS checked.
