Volunteer Drivers and Volunteer Drivers Mates

About us

Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1983. We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs

About the role

We are looking for a number of Volunteer Drivers and Volunteer Drivers Mates to support the Hospice.

These are non-patient facing roles involving moving furniture and stationary between the hospice, shops and outlet whilst supporting the shops with any lifting they may require while in a shop.

The roles require approachable, friendly individuals who ensure confidentiality and respect whilst being an excellent communicator. The roles can involve heavy manual handling (the non-patient role more so) and you must have a full drivers licence to apply for the drivers roles.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a minimum of a shift per week. The vacancies we have are:

Non-patient facing roles – Monday – Friday  8.15 am – 4.15 pm
