Boot Camp Challenge

Boot camp challenge

Could your gym hold a Boot Camp Challenge to raise much-needed funds?

Gyms across Wigan and Leigh are taking on the Boot Camp Challenge issued by Wigan and Leigh Hospice to support local people with life-limiting illnesses.

Gyms simply need to organise a Boot Camp Challenge day – which can be anything from a single class to an 8-hour epic!

We’ll supply banners, collection buckets and sponsorship forms for members.
Sarah and John Boland, co-owners of JSBeFIT in Marus Bridge, have organised several such events.

In 2018 50 people took part in an 8-hour Boot Camp and raised over £7,000, which was the fifth organised by the couple.

John said: “Our target was £5,000 so to get £7,000 was amazing – it’s nearly double what we raised the year before.
“We have always done it for the hospice. My dad and grandad were helped by the hospice so it has always been our chosen charity and we know more people take part because it’s such an important charity in Wigan. It’s rare that you won’t find someone who has been affected by Wigan and Leigh Hospice somewhere down the line.

If you work for a gym which could run a sponsored boot camp our fundraising team will support you in whatever way they can, whether you want to discuss ideas, need help to get going, or if you have questions they are here to help.
