We are looking for a number of Volunteer Drivers and Volunteer Drivers Mates to support the Hospice.

We are looking for a number of Volunteer Drivers and Volunteer Drivers Mates to support the Hospice.

We have both patient facing and non-patient facing roles available.

Patient facing roles involve transporting patients to appointments at the hospice from their home, collecting newspapers for the ward, delivering and collecting items from the hospital and other medical centres and other ad hoc tasks such as collecting deliveries for the kitchen as per your daily schedule. You will commit to complete MiDAS training once a year in order to safely transport patients.

Non-patient facing roles involve moving furniture and stationary between the hospice, shops and outlet whilst supporting the shops with any lifting they may require while in a shop.

The roles require approachable, friendly individuals who ensure confidentiality and respect whilst being an excellent communicator. The roles can involve heavy manual handling (the non-patient role more so) and you must have a full drivers licence to apply for the drivers roles.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a minimum of a shift per week. The vacancies we have are:

Non-patient facing roles - Monday - Friday  8.15am-4.15pm
Patient facing roles - Various shifts Monday - Friday 9.30am-3pm

To apply please complete the application form which can be downloaded at the top right of this advert and return it to volunteering@wlh.org.uk.

Closing Date: 19th August 2017
