Walk, socialise and support your local hospice

The Leigh Pub Walk is taking shape and is nearly ready to launch – and this year it’s bigger, brighter and reaching even more of our community across Leigh, Lowton and Pennington.

Join us for a fantastic day of walking, socialising and raising vital funds for Wigan & Leigh Hospice.

 

The route

The route will be fully sign‑posted, but as always, it may be subject to small changes closer to the event. Please ensure your phone is charged and has data available for maps.

  • Registration begins at 12pm at The Robin Hood in Pennington on Saturday 8 August.
  • The first 50 walkers set off at 1pm.
  • The next wave leaves at 1:30pm, with further waves departing every 15 minutes.

 

This staggered start helps venues manage numbers and keeps the walk enjoyable for everyone.

Fundraising

  • We ask that everyone taking part raises as much as they can in sponsorship.
  • Teams are welcome to take part – sponsorship can be collected as a group.
  • We suggest creating an online sponsorship page.

 

Important information

  • Participants under 18 must walk with a parent or guardian.
  • All walkers will receive a Wigan & Leigh Hospice t-shirt.
  • By signing up, you agree to the following:
    • The Leigh Pub Walk is a guided walk. It is not a race.
    • There is no insistence that you must visit every venue on route.
    • Not all venues are dog friendly. We would recommend not bringing dogs to this event.
    • If you do choose to drink alcohol, please drink responsibly.
    • Wigan & Leigh Hospice does not take responsibility for any participants behaving inappropriately or irresponsibly.
