Remember a loved one

How to donate in memory of a loved one

Making a donation in memory of a loved on can be a special way to pay tribute to them. The hospice relies on charitable donations to continue our work to provide outstanding palliative and end-of-life care to the people of this borough. Your donation helps to protect these services, making sure we can continue to be there for the people of this community for years to come.

Our Memory Garden

Nestled within the peaceful grounds of Wigan & Leigh Hospice, our Memory Garden is a peaceful, tranquil space for quiet reflection. It’s a place to pause, to remember, and to celebrate life.

You can choose to place a plaque in the Memory Garden in memory of someone special, creating a lasting tribute and a special place to return to, time and time again.

To find out more about having a plaque in our memory garden, contact our Fundraising Team on 01942 524 203 or fundraising@wlh.org.uk

Organising a funeral collection

Choosing to collect donations in lieu of flowers is a special way to honour someone’s life while helping others receive the compassionate care they need.

How we can support you

We’re here to help make the process as simple as possible. You can speak to your funeral director about organising a collection, or we can provide:

  • Collection envelopes or a donation box for the service, including Gift Aid slips.
  • A short paragraph and hospice logo for your order of service.
  • Guidance on how donations will be used to support local people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Sending us your donation

If you want to drop off a donation, please call into the hospice reception. It is open 8am-8pm, Monday to Sunday.

Alternatively, you can make a donation online – via our website
