The Wigan Pub Walk returns for 2026!

Since 2024, this amazing event has raised over £50,000. With your help, we’ll make it bigger and better in 2026. So dig out your walking boots and join us for a fundraising walk around Wigan – supported by our local pubs over an eight-mile route.

Venues have confirmed their support and will be putting on special offers for all our walkers showing their event t-shirts and wristbands.

The route

Registration begins at Formby’s, Hindley at 9:30am on Saturday 16 May. The first 100 walkers will then set off at 9:45am, followed by the next wave at 10:10am, and the final walkers at 10:30am. This will help stagger participants and ensure that the pubs can cope with additional custom.

Refreshments

Venues along the route will be serving snacks and food, and we will have a refreshment at Red Rock Car Park for walkers.

Important information

  • Any participants under 18 must walk with a parent or guardian.
  • All participants are given a t-shirt. Additional t-shirts can be purchased on the day for £5. If you have a t-shirt from a previous event, please wear it.
  • We ask that everyone taking part raises whatever they can in sponsorship.
  • Hard copies of sponsorship forms and collection boxes can be provided.
  • We recommend setting up an online fundraising page.
  • By signing up, you agree to the following:
    • The Wigan Pub Walk is a signposted walk around Wigan. It is not a race.
    • There is no insistence that you must visit every venue on route.
    • Dogs are welcome on the walk, but must be kept on a lead at all times.
    • If you do choose to drink alcohol, please drink responsibly.
    • Wigan & Leigh Hospice does not take responsibility for any participants behaving inappropriately or irresponsibly.
