Children at Hindley All Saints Primary School are leading the way to Turn Wigan Purple this year with spectacular colour run and a donation of over £6,300 for Wigan & Leigh Hospice!

Every year, the hospice asks everyone in Wigan and Leigh to wear purple and make a donation to raise funds to keep the hospice running. Turn Wigan Purple will take place this year on 9 July.

Lindsey Butler, Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager at the hospice, said: “The Hindley All Saints colour run has raised an incredible total of £6,339 so far, with some funds still to be collected, which is a fantastic achievement!

“We’re really hoping that this shows everyone how much fun Turn Wigan Purple can be and that lots more people follow suit and take part on 9 July.

“Schools, businesses, pubs, community groups: Everyone is invited to join in, wear purple and support the hospice. Let’s see how much we can raise together!”

To get involved with Turn Wigan Purple, you can register your interest on the hospice website or email fundraising@wlh.org.uk.

The money raised by Turn Wigan Purple events and activities will help fund Wigan & Leigh Hospice’s ongoing care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones, both at the Inpatient Unit and across the Wigan borough.
