How to leave us a gift in your will

Supporting future hospice care through your will

By leaving a gift in your will, you’ll be helping to fund specialist care, bereavement support, and comfort for local people and their families
– now and in the future.

Your legacy, their care

Wigan & Leigh Hospice is a registered charity and receives less than a third of its funding from the NHS. To continue delivering our services, we must raise over £4.4 million every year.

Your legacy could help fund specialist nursing care, bereavement support, and comfort for families across Wigan and Leigh – now and in the future.

If you’d like to leave a gift in your will, simply provide your solicitor with the following details:

  • Charity name: Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
  • Charity number: 513400.

That’s all you need – then you decide on the type and size of gift that feels right for you. You don’t have to tell us about your gift, but if you do, we’d love to say thank you and keep you updated on the difference your support makes.

Types of gifts you can leave

By leaving a gift in your will, you can help ensure that Wigan & Leigh Hospice continues to care for local people for years to come.

There are three main ways to leave a gift:

  • A residuary gift, which is a percentage of your estate – such as 5%. This type of gift retains its value over time and allows you to support loved ones while also helping the hospice.
  • A cash (pecuniary) gift, which is a fixed sum of money, such as £5,000. These gifts are paid out first before the rest of your estate is distributed.
  • A specific gift, which is a nominated item, such as a piece of artwork, jewellery, or an antique.

Each type of gift plays a vital role in helping us continue our work and ensures your legacy supports compassionate care in our community.
