Wigan & Leigh Hospice’s inaugural Leigh Pub Walk took place on Saturday 18 October, bringing together supporters, local businesses, and the community for a lively afternoon of fundraising and fun.
Participants enjoyed a 5k route through the town, stopping off at some of its best-loved pubs and venues.
The walk began at the Holiday Inn Express at Leigh Sports Village, with staggered starts from 12:15pm to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved.
Lindsey Butler, Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager at Wigan & Leigh Hospice, said:
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part, as well as the local businesses and venues who supported the event and helped make it such a memorable day.
“Thanks to the generosity of our walkers and sponsors, vital funds were raised to support the hospice’s work with people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.“This was our first Leigh Pub Walk, and we were delighted with the response. We’re already looking ahead to bringing it back next year, even bigger and better!”

Many venues offered exclusive deals to walkers wearing their event wristbands, adding to the joyful atmosphere and community spirit.
