Whether you’re running hard, jogging socially, or simply embracing the festive atmosphere, the Rivington Santa Dash is a brilliant way to get moving while supporting hospice care.

A jolly four‑mile fancy dress run for everyone

The Rivington Santa Dash is a friendly, inclusive event designed for runners of all abilities. Fancy dress is encouraged (but not compulsory), and the route offers a relaxed, enjoyable challenge with plenty of encouragement along the way.

Organised by a family-run events team, this race is known for its warm welcome, supportive marshals and festive buzz – the kind of event where people finish smiling and already look forward to next year.

  • Fancy dress is encouraged – you can go all out or keep it simple. Prizes are given out for the best fancy dress and surprise spot prizes will be given out too.
  • A distance for everyone – this event is perfect for new runners, social joggers, seasoned racers or anyone wanting something different from the usual 5k or 10k.
  • A friendly, family-run atmosphere – you can expect welcoming registration, cheerful marshals and a supportive community vibe.

  • Registration: 8:45am-9:45am.
  • Race start: 10:00am.
  • Distance: 4 miles (approximately).
  • Cut-off time: 1 hour 45 minutes.
  • Timing: Chip timing.
  • Medal: Christmas-themed medal/trinket.

 

Starting opposite Curley’s Dining Rooms & Fisheries and based at the Jolly Crofters Public House, the Santa Dash takes runners on a festive tour around Horwich.

Free places for hospice supporters

Supporters can secure a free place by raising a minimum of £50 for Wigan & Leigh Hospice by Friday 4 December 2026.
