During the festive period, many of us will remember and reflect on important people and memories, held so dear in our hearts. These cherished memories are all the more important when someone is no longer here.
Light for a Life is an opportunity for us to come together to reflect on those special memories whilst also supporting the vital work of Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
Your dedication doesn’t have to be in memory of someone who the hospice has cared for. Light for a Life is just about remembering those we love.
If you choose to make your dedication online, you have the option to include a photograph of your loved one, alongside a personal message. These will be added to our Online Night Sky.
Remember and commemorate your loved ones with us this Christmas
By dedicating a light on our tree, you are playing a part in ensuring that our services will continue to be there for families like Terry and Anne’s, who we were there for, right when they needed us.

Anne said: “When it all began to get too much, that’s when the hospice stepped in. We were introduced to Katie through our Doctor, she visited us and began to care for Terry at home. She was amazing.
“What the hospice offers is so unique – they offer wrap-around care that you can only really understand if you’ve experienced it.
“We’ll always support our hospice in memory of Terry, and we’re looking forward to being there during the Christmas period and having his light on the tree, to remember the strongest man we know.”
You can read Terry and Anne’s story in full here.
Join us at our upcoming Light for a Life Service
Our wonderful Light for a Life Service will take place within the hospice grounds on Sunday 30 November, from 4pm.

During the service there will be carols from a local school, music from a brass band, and beautiful readings, marking the special occasion, with the switch on of our Christmas tree completing the evening. There’ll also be refreshments and several stalls for everyone to enjoy.
We look forward to welcoming you.
