Our lottery – FAQs

Playing the lottery

You can play our lottery from just £2 a week. It is a great way to support people in your community living with life-limiting illnesses.

Many supporters see their subscription as a regular donation – with the added bonus of being entered into a draw for one of 40 guaranteed weekly prizes.

Scroll down for answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about our lottery.

How can I play your lottery?

Our lottery costs just £2 per week, and you can double your chances by playing with two numbers.

When you sign up, you’ll be given a unique number that’s yours to keep.

Every Friday, 40 winning numbers are drawn electronically, and if your number is selected, you could win up to £5,000.

There’s no need to claim your prize – we’ll send your winnings by cheque in the post. For those who like to keep track, the winning numbers are also published weekly on our website and social media channels.

There are 40 prizes to be won every week, including a guaranteed top prize of £1,000. If the top prize isn’t claimed, it rolls over – up to five times – giving players the chance to win up to £5,000.

Additional weekly prizes include £250, £100, £50, five prizes of £25, and 30 prizes of £10.

There’s no need to claim or check the results as we’ll send you a cheque in the post.

Since its launch in 1993, our lottery has raised millions of pounds to support the running of Wigan & Leigh Hospice. In that time, more than 60,000 people have won prizes – while helping to fund vital care for those with lime-limiting illnesses.

By joining, you’re helping to ensure that hospice services are available not just today, but for future generations too.

You can round up your monthly Direct Debit of £8.68 to £10 per number per month with our ‘keep the change’ option. The additional £1.32 will be treated as a donation to Wigan & Leigh Hospice and can also be Gift Aided, making it worth an extra 25% at no cost to you.

‘Keep the change’ ensures your monthly payments are rounded up automatically, helping to provide even more care for local people every single month.

If you’re already a lottery player paying by Direct Debit, call us, or email us and we’ll add ‘keep the change’ to your existing payment.

If you play the lottery but don’t currently pay by Direct Debit, you can switch to a monthly Direct Debit here and select the ‘keep the change’ option from the payment dropdown.

If you’re new to our lottery, you can sign up for a monthly Direct Debit and choose the ‘keep the change’ option when prompted.
