Our charity shops are operated by a team of committed volunteers, who give their time and skills to raise vital funds for the hospice and they are supported by the Retail Managers.

We’re looking for volunteers who are approachable and friendly, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. In return, you’ll be offered support and training to do the job, as well as the opportunity to be part of a brilliant team who really make a difference.

This role is currently only open to applicants over the age of 18.

A typical day could involve sorting and pricing donated stock, rotating and replenishing stock, serving customers using the electronic till system, assisting customers with their purchases, as well as ensuring the shop is well presented and welcoming to customers to help to bring in as much income as possible to support the hospice.

We are looking for a number of volunteers who can commit to a minimum of a half day shift per week to allow us to extend our opening hours. The shifts may vary slightly by shop, but are generally 9am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-4pm and we also need volunteers in our shop on Robin Retail Park in Wigan, which is open on Sundays too. More detailed information on shop locations and current opening times can be found at the our shops section of this website.

The shops and shifts that we are looking to fill urgently are – Ashton Friday PM, Golborne Mon – Sat PM, Hindley Friday & Saturday, Leigh Bradshawgate shop for all shifts, as well as Lifters & Shifters Monday & Wednesday, Robin Park 7 days, Shevington Mondays Fri PM & Sat all day, Pemberton Wed all day.

Volunteers can claim back the cost of bus tickets, tea and coffee is provided and once you have passed your 4 week probationary period, you can apply to be a member of the Blue Light Card discount club.

Support your local hospice by volunteering in one of our shops – meet people, learn new skills, and make a real difference.
