Janet Fletcher, Retail Manager for the Hospice says, “We’ve had a sudden drop in furniture donations and are struggling to keep our 12 shops stocked with good quality, usable furniture to sell.

    When you undertake a bike ride the length of the UK, it doesn’t help when you get stung by a wasp, get knocked off by a tractor and have to ride 40 miles with only two gears! All of this happened to David Collier when he decided to ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of Wigan & Leigh Hospice.

  • Wigan Beer Festival Donation of £1234.00

    This year, the highly successful annual Wigan Beer Festival was again held at Robin Park. Hundreds attended every night to sample some of the extensive range of real ales on offer. Festival Manager Ian Prior said, “The festival was again a great success and we are delighted to make a donation to Wigan and Leigh Hospice for £1234.00. The money was raised from tokens kindly donated back by customers.”

  • Steve Brodrick is new Facilities Manager

    Steve Brodrick is a recent appointment to the Wigan & Leigh hospice staff as Facilities Manager. His background is in Engineering, Health and Safety and Maintenance. He originally came to the Hospice in 2011 after reading a press article about the need for volunteer drivers at the hospice.
