Adult Health and Social Care

The aim of the Department of Adult Services at Wigan Council is to help the most vulnerable members of the community by providing a variety of services to meet their individual needs.

 

Point of access

The Central Duty Team are the first point of contact for people who think they need help.

You can telephone them on 01942 828777. The team operates 8.45 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and 8.45 am to 1 pm Saturdays.

 

Service provision

The Central Duty Team offers:

  • On-the-spot information about services
  • Immediate advice and guidance
  • Referrals to an appropriate team (a member of the team will contact the individual with regards to the help available/arrange assessment)
  • Redirection to a more appropriate source to deal with the request if Adult Services are unable to help.

NB: Please note there may be a charge for service provision pending a financial assessment.
