Why Volunteer?

We are a local charity and rely on the support of our community to ensure we can deliver all of our services free of charge to those who need them.

We are fortunate to be supported by over 600 active volunteers. Our volunteers donate around 100,000 hours to the hospice every year which saves us almost £1,000,000. By giving your time you can support the delivery of many of the services the hospice provides and enable us to keep our costs down.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to spend your spare time, a great way to meet new people and an opportunity to develop new skills. It is a great step towards going back to work, building confidence and becoming a part of your community. You'll be helping local people and work as part of a friendly team.

We really appreciate everything our volunteers do for us and our volunteers get a tremendous sense of satisfaction from knowing they are supporting the hospice.

We are looking for reliable people who can commit themselves for regular shifts at the hospice or in the community or ad hoc volunteering at fundraising events.

Most of our volunteering roles don't require specialist skills. However, if you do have particular skills and want to apply these, please let us know.
