The fourth Leigh Community 10K will take place in August 2020 with hundreds of runners expected to take part.
The race is a Run Britain licensed event, accurately measured and chip timed and will take in two laps of Leigh town centre.
Runners should arrive in plenty of time to allow for parking and registration. When you’ve got your runner number pin your number on your front without folding or covering it – it needs to be seen by the race marshals.
The route to the start point is clearly marked. Line up behind the start line. There will be a few short safety announcements and then the race will start at 9.30 am. The route is open to the public but is closed to traffic. We advise that you do not wear iPods or similar devices whilst running for safety reasons.
A water station will be located at halfway (5k) on the route. Medics will be available throughout the course on bikes and at the finish.
You are welcome to jog or walk the route. If you decide to do this please move as far to the left hand side as possible to allow runners to overtake you.
A range of prizes will be available.
Local residents and businesses will receive a letter and public notices will be in place.
The event is a collaboration between Wigan & Leigh Hospice, Wigan Council, Inspiring healthy lifestyles, Fylde Coast Runners, Leigh Harriers Athletics Club, the Rotary Club of Leigh, Time2Run Events and Nectar.
