An eggciting time

22 April 2012

For several years, the main ASDA store in Leigh has supported the hospice in various different ways.

For several years, one example has been their Easter Trolley donation. On the approach to Easter, they invite the public to buy Easter Eggs and donate them to the Hospice by placing them in a trolley.

Community Life Champion at ASDA Cathy Jones said "This is a fabulous idea.  It is the first time I have done it.  We pushed two trolleys brimming with eggs through the streets to the Hospice in Hindley.  It was amazing to see and hear all the cars, trucks and even cyclists cheering us on. What fun - a great atmosphere.

"When we arrived at the Hospice it was great to distribute them to patients and to see their reaction when we rolled into the day hospice pushing dozens of Easter Eggs.  It was an eye-opener for me and not at all what I was expecting.

"The hospice is a fantastic organisation that provides an essential service to our community.  We will be doing more fundraising for them in the future. Keep your eyes open when you come instore."
