Another first for the hospice

22 April 2012

Jenny Meadows is World Bronze Medallist, 2011 800m National Outdoor Champion and Great Britain representative in the 2012 London Olympics.

During her preparation for this major challenge, Jenny gives her support in encouraging ladies to become Star Trekkers for Wigan & Leigh Hospice.

She says, "I will have many challenges to face this year, but I cannot help thinking about the challenges faced by hospice patients."

This year is the fifth Star Trekkers ladies sponsored walk and is a great way to have some fun whilst raising money for local people; who could be our friends, relatives - or even ourselves.

Prior to this year's event it has raised over £150,000 for the Hospice and is one of the main fundraising events in the calendar.

Jenny added, "When I appeared on Celebrity Mastermind I donated my fee to the Hospice.  I know the Hospice does a terrific job of providing specialist care for local people and I heartily encourage you to support them."
