Teen Miss Great Britain Finalist Supports Hospice

10 August 2012

Jade Boswell(18) from Wigan is one of 60 national finalists in the ‘Teen Miss Great Britain’ competition. She is in line for a stunning array of prizes which, in addition to the prestigious sash and crown, include £1000 cash, £500 to spend on clothes and an introduction to a leading modelling agency.

She was chosen from photos sent in to the competition by young ladies from all over the UK and has been shortlisted from 200 semi-finalists.

As well as being an attractive young lady, Jade is also keen to support charity.  The chosen charity for the national competition is Claire House Children's Hospice.  She has also chosen to give support to her local Wigan & Leigh Hospice and has assembled a group of friends who will help her.

Jade said, "Wigan & Leigh Hospice do some magnificent work for local people and I want to try and help them in some way.  We are going to have a cake stall at their Summer Fayre on Saturday 11th August.  We are also going to be distributing 'House to House' envelopes for them, as well as other activities a later in the year.

Hospice Fundraising Events Officer Julie Dennis said, "We want to thank Jade, her friends and all young people who support us.  They are often 'unsung heroes' doing some great voluntary work.  Quite often only the bad elements of society get featured on national media."

The final of 'Miss Teen Great Britain' will be held on Sunday 30th September at the Globe Theatre, Blackpool.  A host of activities are planned for the finalists that weekend.  They will be treated like the 'stars' they are.
