Caitlin Meadwell visited the Hospice in Kildare Street, Hindley, to donate the money she raised by making and selling more than 100 loom band bracelets.

Caitlin, who attends Hindley Green Community Primary School, was inspired to help after the Hospice cared for her dad Kevin Meadwell.

Her aunt Michelle Strode also created home-made cards to help Caitlin reach her goal.

Stepdad Jamie Nixon said: "Caitlin had the initiative to raise money by making loom bands for charity and I said it would never work as everybody was making them - how wrong I was!
"We are so proud as a family of our girls as a few weeks ago Caitlin, her stepsister Olivia Nixon and mum Barbara Meadwell all did a sponsored skate for the Hospice as well."

Fundraising and Lottery Manager for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, Maxine Armstrong, said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to Caitlin for all her hard work and her support for the Hospice.
"Her donation will help to make a difference to local people living with a life-limiting illness."
