Staff Bare All for the Hospice!

08 April 2014

STAFF at Wigan and Leigh Hospice showed they were ready to bare all by giving up make-up for a day.

Women at the Hospice have so far raised £123 by washing off their mascara and wiping away their lipstick on Monday, April 7th, for 'Bare All for the Hospice Day'.

The hospice is now encouraging other women across the borough to organise their own 'Bare All for the Hospice Day' and raise vital funds.

The event was organised by the hospice Education team who were inspired by the success of the no make-up selfie campaign.

Sarah Owens, Hospice Education Lead, said:
"The thought of spending a day without any make-up on can be very daunting but the women at the hospice have been brave and bared all. Some have even told me they enjoyed the freedom of not wearing any make-up.
"We know women across Wigan and Leigh will look beautiful with or without make-up. We would love them to join in with us and show us their bare-faced cheek in order to raise money for the hospice."

The women at Ashton Sub Post Office on Bryn Street have already showed their support by participating in 'Bare All for the Hospice Day' on Monday.

The hospice on Kildare Street provides specialist palliative care free of charge to people with life-limiting illnesses across the borough and needs to raise over £7,300 every day.
