Bucks raised for Hospice
29 September 2015
A Dedicate A Daisy family fun day at the Bucks Head in Abram has raised over £2,580 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice’s Counting on Care appeal.
Visitors to the pub, on Warrington Road, enjoyed a whole host of activities on 29th August, including an It's a Knock Out assault course, bouncy castles, a BBQ, cake and craft stalls and a disco among many other things.
Families were also able be able to Dedicate A Daisy to remember a loved one and plant it at the Bucks Head on the day in aid of the Hospice's Counting on Care Appeal.
The Hospice is currently raising £60,000 for the Counting on Care appeal to support the cost of modernising the 14-bed Inpatient Unit and making it dementia-friendly. All proceeds from Dedicate A Daisy will go towards the appeal.
Christine Edwardson, community fundraiser, said: "The Bucks Head pub put so much time and effort in to organising the fun day and it was a fantastic success. We'd like to thank them and everyone who came along on the day for their support."
