A FUNDRAISING event held by volunteers to mark the first anniversary of Wigan and Leigh Hospice’s Tyldesley shop has proved a hit.

Buy Me Now a success in Tyldesley

The final total from the Buy Me Now day held at the Elliot Street shop on Tuesday, March 24th, was £859.

Volunteers invited customers to 'Buy Me Now' and purchase all or part of the outfits they were modelling. Once an outfit was sold they quickly changed into another.

Volunteers also baked cakes and made flower arrangements. A grand raffle with 70 prizes was held and customers gave donations for manicures.

Retail Manager, Kate Gaynor, said: "All the clothes modelled were donated which goes to show that, not only do we have generous supporters, but we have high quality merchandise available in our shops.
"It was a great event celebrating a fantastic first year and our chance to thank the local community for supporting their local Hospice shop.
"The shop volunteers deserve an enormous thank you for hosting an incredibly successful event but also for giving up their time and working so hard throughout the year to raise vital funds for the Hospice."
