The Owl'd Barn on Atherton Road raised £206.12 on Thursday, February 12th, by hosting a fully sold-out three-course dinner.

Proceeds from Indian head massages, reiki sessions, a raffle and donations were given to the Hospice for the appeal which is raising money to refurbish the Inpatient Unit and make it dementia-friendly.

Sonia Davies, co-manager and owner of the Owl'd Barn with Susan Wilcock, said: "We wanted to help the Hospice because we get a lot of people coming into the café who support it, we especially get a lot of Hospice volunteers. And because we are based in Hindley, like the Hospice, we wanted to support a local charity.
"It was a really good night and we're happy to have raised over £200."

Christine Edwardson, Hospice Community Fundraiser, said:
"We really appreciate the support shown by The Owl'd Barn and others towards our Counting on Care appeal. We are seeing more and more patients and visitors with dementia at the Hospice so we are determined to raise £60,000 to modernise our Inpatient Unit and make it a place where anyone with dementia feels safe and secure.
"The grand total so far stands at over £6,000 so we are well on our way but there's still a long way to go. If anyone would like to find out more about how they can help please do get in touch with the fundraising team or see our website for some ideas."
