Howe Bridge helps the Hospice

The crematorium on Lovers Lane holds memorial services every three months and donations at the last three services, in addition to the sum raised by metal recycling, amounted to £1,835.13.

Manager of Howe Bridge Crematorium, Sandra Waldeis, said: "We've been fundraising for the Hospice for about eight years now because it's a fantastic local cause. I don't know how much has been raised but it must be thousands and thousands.
"It's a brilliant amount - people are so supportive - and of course a lot of them have had their own relatives looked after by Hospice services."

Christine Edwardson, Hospice Community Fundraiser, said: "On behalf of all our patients, and their families and carers, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has donated and to Howe Bridge Crematorium. The money raised will make a huge difference to local people with life-limiting illnesses."
