A PUB in Hindley is looking for donations to help raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice’s fundraising appeal.

Pub appeals for Easter donations

The Banner on Banner Street is holding a fun day on Sunday, April 5th, when the Hindley pub will be raising money towards the Counting on Care appeal to modernise the Inpatient Unit at the Hospice and make it dementia-friendly.

The pub is appealing for donations of prizes and Easter eggs for the Easter egg hunt, Easter bingo, raffles and tombolas they have planned.

The Banner will also be selling pie and peas to raise funds after Dawsons Bakery donated 50 pies.

As part of the Counting on Care appeal the Hospice is asking workplaces, community groups and supporters to enjoy a meal of pie and peas and make a donation to the Hospice.

Landlady Tina Brown said: "We have a lot planned for the day and everything we raise through sales of pie and peas, the Easter egg hunt, bingo, raffles and tombolas will all be going to the appeal. If anyone has gifts they could donate or a spare Easter egg we would be really grateful for their help.
"I have had a few friends go to the hospice and I have family and friends who have had cancer so I wanted to do something for the appeal."

The Easter Sunday event will start at 1pm and also features a Lady Gaga impersonator.
