AN EASTER Fun Day organised by Winstanley Community Support Group at St Aiden’s Social Club in Winstanley raised £2,026 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

Revellers flock to fun day

Over 600 hot dogs were sold at the Bank Holiday Monday fun day which featured magic shows, a climbing wall, archery, fairground rides, birds of prey, tombolas, raffles, refreshments and a range of stalls selling jewellery, cards, toys, cakes and more.

Peppa Pig made a guest appearance and there were performances from dance groups The Hawks and Urban Funk Dance.

The group is run by three sisters - Katie, Kelly and Claire - to raise funds for Wigan and Leigh Hospice in memory of their mum Denise Winstanley who was cared for by the Hospice.

Katie said: "We are so grateful to all our family and friends for their continued support. It was great to see the community come together and have fun whilst raising vital funds for a charity close to our hearts."

The final total raised at the fun day was boosted by a car boot sale attended by Katie and her family.
