New Hospice volunteering roles available

07 March 2016

Wigan and Leigh Hospice is on the lookout for new volunteers for some of its newest Hospice services.

Through its Hospice in Your Home service, volunteers offer support and companionship to patients in their own homes.

A brand new Wellbeing Centre, due to open later this year, will also incorporate a wide range of volunteering roles.

A special Volunteer Morning will take place at the Hospice on Kildare Street in Hindley on Friday 18th March from 10am to 12pm for anyone who'd like to find out more about these volunteering roles. Light refreshments will be provided.

Volunteers Morning

Irene Cieplak, Volunteer Services Manager, said: "This is a really exciting time to join us as a volunteer as we extend the services we provide to patients and their families.

"We're holding a volunteer morning so that anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer can come along and find out more about the roles available. Even if you only have a few hours a week to spare, we really need your help.

"Volunteering gives you the chance to learn new skills and make new friendships as well as work as part of a team. Come along and see how you could get involved in supporting the Hospice."
