Water babies take on swimming challenge for Hospice

03 June 2016

Two young girls from Hindley have taken on a challenging swim in memory of their granddad.

Olivia Sumner (9) and her sister Georgia Sumner (7) wanted to do something to raise money for the Hospice following the care their Granddad, 'Grandie', received four years ago.

The girls beat their own targets and swam 128 and 80 lengths respectively.

Christine Edwardson, community fundraiser, said: "We are all so proud of Olivia and Georgia who have raised a fantastic £750 for the Hospice. They are two very determined young girls with a real love of swimming and it was a pleasure to be there to watch them both on the day of their challenge. Their granddad would have been so proud of them."
