London calling for hospice

03 October 2017

FUNDRAISING for Wigan and Leigh Hospice is going international with a London to Paris bike ride planned for 2018.

The hospice has just 25 places available for a 300-mile bike ride from the heart of London to the city of love in September 2018.

Cyclists will spend five days travelling through the English countryside into rural France passing by historical landmarks and World War 1 battlefields before reaching the Eiffel Tower.

An information evening will be held at the hospice on Kildare Street in Hindley at 6.30pm on Thursday, October 26th for those wishing to find out more. To book a place please call the fundraising team on 01942 525566 or email:

Maxine Armstrong, Fundraising and Lottery Manager for the hospice, said: "This is the first time we have taken a fundraising event international and it's a really exciting challenge.
"The route is absolutely stunning and you'll be raising funds to help your hospice care for local people and their loved ones.
"If you are interested please come along to our information evening to find out more. There is no obligation to sign up afterwards."

There are just 25 places available which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

A minimum £1,900 sponsorship is needed which includes accommodation, the ferry crossing, meals and support along the way.
