WINNER of The Voice UK 2016, Kevin Simm, will be performing at the Wigan and Leigh Hospice Ball in May.

Kevin, 37, will be bringing his vocal talents to the DW Stadium on Saturday, May 19th, when over 200 people will attend the annual fundraiser.

Kevin, from Chorley, is also well-known for being part of the pop group Liberty X. The group achieved 8 UK Top Ten hits including their number 1 single 'Just a Little'.

Maxine Armstrong, hospice Fundraising and Lottery Manager, said: "Anyone who has seen The Voice UK will know what a fantastic performer Kevin is and we are absolutely thrilled that he will be singing at our Hospice Ball.
"The Ball is our most glamorous evening of the year and our guests always have a lot of fun. Importantly, they also help us to raise money for the hospice so that we can continue providing our vital services."

Kevin started singing at the age of 15 when his uncle inspired him to audition for his school Christmas concert. After performing at the concert he was hooked and knew that performing was what he wanted to do as a career. Shortly after leaving college he auditioned for the TV show 'Stars in their Eyes' presented by Matthew Kelly and performed on the show as the 'Ocean Colour Scene' frontman Simon Fowler.

He joined Liberty X in 1999 and the group enjoyed 6 years together before deciding to go their separate ways but re-united further down the line for the ITV2 show 'The Big Re-union'. The bands involved went on to do two sold out UK arena tours and Liberty X went on to perform at shows across the country for the next couple of years.

In 2015 Kevin decided to audition for the BBC show 'The Voice'. Auditioning with the song 'Chandelier' by Sia Kevin impressed the coaches so much that all 4 turned their chairs for him. After making it to the final two Kevin and fellow finalist Jolan had to perform the winner's song 'All you Good Friends'. After a public vote Kevin was declared the winner of the show and 'All you Good Friends' was officially released peaking at number 2 on iTunes.

Also performing at the Hospice Ball will be talented Wigan tenor Andrew Brown. Andrew's grandma was cared for by the hospice before she died in 2012 and in March this year Andrew from Poolstock held a concert for the hospice in her memory.

The ball will be hosted by Wish FM's Chris Milow.

Tickets for the Hospice Ball are priced at £50 each and include a champagne reception, three course meal, entertainment and dancing until the early hours.
