We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs

Many services provided by Wigan & Leigh Hospice are dependent on the goodwill of our generous volunteers.

Volunteers benefit from subsidised meals, help towards bus fare (subject to certain conditions) and you can apply for a Blue Light Card.

About the role

We require approachable and friendly individuals who ensure confidentiality and respect whilst being an excellent communicator.

The role is varied and can involve daily tasks such as delivering samples/collecting supplies at Wigan Infirmary as required, collecting/delivering fundraising items, collecting donated food along with any other driving duties as requested by different departments within the hospice. You must have a full drivers licence and be over the age of 25 to apply for this role.

The shift we are recruiting for is on a Tuesday from 10.30am until 3.00pm approx, working alongside another volunteer driver.
