FRIENDS RAISE THOUSANDS WITH FIGHT

white collar fight

TWO friends raised over £2,000 by taking part in a White Collar boxing match in memory of their friend’s mum.

Melissa and Catherine raised a whopping £2,028 by spending 8 weeks training for and taking part in a White Collar boxing fight.

The pair took on the challenge in memory of their friend Claire’s mum – Doreen Lawrenson – who sadly passed away at the hospice on November 1st, 2019.

Catherine won her fight at Bowlers in Manchester and raised the most out of all of the fighters that night!

Fight night

Catherine said: “The care this beautiful lady and her family received from the hospice during her illness was astounding.
“The training involved eight weeks of intense training ready for a boxing match in front of lots of people. It was definitely out of my comfort zone but fight night was amazing. Up to now I have raised over £1000. I am so happy the money I have raised will go to such a fantastic local charity.”

Melissa said: “The hospice supported my friend and her family through such a difficult time and is such an amazing charity.
“I felt completely useless as to what to say or how to help my dear friend and her family at such a sad time so decided to sign up for a white collar fighter event and dragged my other crazy mate Cath along with me!”

Claire says she is very grateful to her friends for raising such an incredible amount.
