Your Hosts
The conference will be led by the Practice Development Team, who include experienced registered nurses, healthcare assistants and a social worker. The team aims to enhance the skills of healthcare workers and improve the care of patients in the last few weeks and days of life.
Practice Development Team Manager, Debbie Jones, says:
“As a hospice we are committed to ensuring that good palliative and end of life care is accessible to all. With an established education team, we have a strong history of supporting staff across the borough of Wigan with their learning needs.
As part of our education offer, we have always hosted regular conferences and post pandemic it has been important to us to highlight some of the amazing work that has taken place both nationally and locally in relation to end of life care for marginalised communities.
Our conference, From Marginalisation to Inclusion, aims to bring together some of the leading clinicians and researchers in this field, to showcase some of the exciting research findings and initiative outcomes. These findings will focus on removing barriers to accessing palliative and end of life care for those groups that historically have struggled.”
We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday 25th September.
