THE HOSPICE is holding a recruitment open day on Thursday, March 31st.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice is inviting people with an interest in palliative and end of life care to visit the hospice to find out about what roles are available and see the hospice for themselves.

Rewarding work

Vicki McLoughlin, Clinical Director, said:

“We will shortly be advertising several roles and are looking for people with a passion for palliative and end of life care. You don’t need to have worked in that field before as the hospice offers excellent training and development in a rewarding field of work.

“If you want to be involved in providing the best possible care for patients and those people closest to them at one of the most difficult times of their lives come and talk to us.”

“We have compassionate professional teams who are dedicated to delivering our mission that every adult with palliative and end of life care needs, and those people most important to them within the Wigan Borough, will receive timely and equitable access to high quality services, delivered by appropriately trained staff.”

Amanda Isherwood, Senior Educator at the hospice, said: “I joined the Hospice in your Care Home team in 2015 and believe in the importance of education. I love having the opportunity to make a difference and knowing that the training I have delivered will improve someone’s end of life care.”
