The Eric Wright Charitable Trust donates £25,000 to Wigan & Leigh Hospice

In 2024, The Eric Wright Charitable Trust has donated £200,000 to eight charities. These charities are nominated by their employees, with each receiving a £25,000 donation.

As a chosen ‘Charity of the Year’, Wigan & Leigh Hospice was visited by trustees Alison Wright and Michele Collier, MD of Eric Wright Partnerships Lesley McGregor, and Kim Bebbington, Head of Customer Relations. The group had the opportunity to tour the hospice grounds and see first-hand the care provided to patients within the community.

Trustee for The Eric Wright Charitable Trust, Alison Wright said:

“The Trustees are pleased to award a grant to Wigan & Leigh Hospice.  The Hospice gives care and compassion not only to patients with unique needs but support their families at a most sensitive time.”

Director of Business Development for Wigan & Leigh Hospice, Clare Cooke states:

“It’s a real privilege to have been chosen by The Eric Wight Charitable Trust as one of their charities of the year for 2024 and to accept their generous donation.

“This support will make such a huge difference to the hospice and to all of the people across Wigan and Leigh who are supported by our services. We’re looking forward to working with the Eric Wright Group team this year.”

The Eric Wright Charitable Trust was established in 1990 by founder, Eric Wright, in the belief that the role of business in society is to build resilient communities, not simply by creating a strong and sustainable business to provide local employment, but also by using its financial strength to have a positive impact through charitable activities.

Wigan & Leigh Hospice is a registered charity serving people across the Wigan borough who have been diagnosed with an illness which is no longer curable. The Hospice relies on the support of the community to help fund services. It costs £18,500 a day to keep the hospice running, £12,000 of that must be raised through our shops, fundraising and community donations.
