We are honoured to announce that we have been chosen as Wigan Warriors Charity of the Year for the 2025 season. This news was unveiled at our Gala Ball on Saturday 23 November by Hospice CEO, Jo Carby.
As part of the partnership, the Warriors have dedicated their Third Kit to the hospice, featuring the hospice logo and daisy along the sleeve trim. The shirt also features ‘Debbie’ on the side, paying tribute to Liam Marshall’s mum, who was cared for by the hospice and sadly passed away earlier this year.
Liam said,
“My family and I are, and always will be, incredibly grateful and appreciative for everything Wigan did as a club at the beginning of this year with regards to my Mum. It is very fitting that this years Charity Partner is Wigan & Leigh Hospice, as this is where Mum spent her final hours, and to have her memory and legacy remembered on a Wigan kit is an incredible gesture. We cannot thank the Hospice enough for their care and support in our darkest hours and we will be forever grateful to them. Being able to support them this way feels right.”
The shirts have been a huge success so far, with more than 1,000 sold in the first 6 hours of being available. £5 from every Third Kit shirt sale will kindly be donated to the hospice.
We are really looking forward to the year ahead and you can purchase your very own Third Kit shirt instore at the Wigan Warriors shop, or online by clicking here.
