Hospice In Your Home Companion Volunteers
About the role
We are looking to appoint a number of volunteers to support our Hospice In Your Home team to visit patients in their own homes in the Atherton/Tyldesley/Leigh area. We also have a high demand for chaperones for our male patients at the moment.
As a Hospice In Your Home volunteer you will provide breaks for carers, and companionship as well as practical and emotional support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at their homes.
The role requires caring, empathetic and compassionate individuals who ensure confidentiality, respect and dignity whilst being an excellent listener. You must be able to travel independently for this role also.
Full training will be provided, as well as regular support meetings with the Hospice in your home team.
We are looking for a weekly commitment of a minimum of 2 hours per week, days and times to be arranged according to need, but visits must take place during office hours.
The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Services Check (DBS) and minimum age of 18.
